Ben at Work

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

This was such a fabulous picture that Ben posted on his Facebook, I had to steal it so that others can enjoy it. This is Ben “working” in Switzerland.

Clarion County, Pennsylvania Research

Monday, August 25th, 2008

After having a wonderful day with the Marsches yesterday, I left their house this morning and headed for Clarion, Pennsylvania. My Lee ancestors: father Addison, and children including my great-grandfather Ira Lee moved from Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, sometime after 1876 (record of a deed in Huntingdon) and before 1880 (census in Clarion County). I [...]

Abbie Wins a Ribbon or Two

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Abbie entered a “blouse” she made for the Ozark Empire Fair. It’s really the top half of costume (Civil War era dress). She won first place in that division and also a sponsor’s choice award.

Sam’s Summer

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

For those of you who aren’t a friend of Sam on Facebook or didn’t follow his enigmatic clue as to following his summer exploits, you can read here. So far he’s posted his itinerary and we hope he continues to update it throughout the summer.

Busy, busy, busy

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

Thanks to all of you who visited and commented on my last post. Lorri, Ben will be living in Geneva. Hannah, I’ll email you about the math and phonics. I can only imagine how precocious your daughter might be.
I just got back from The Conference in the States in Kansas City last night. It [...]

Family News

Friday, May 9th, 2008

I don’t usually post much about the family because some of them don’t like finding out that people they don’t know seem to know all about them when meeting them in other environments.
Last Thursday-Sunday, the girls and I went up to Indiana to visit Ben and one family we’ve known through the internet for [...]

My response to a response

Friday, April 18th, 2008

I was looking on the local paper’s Web site and ran across an article written by Mona Charon about why the public schools are failing to teach ethics or character. There were three replies, one of which was the obligatory, “Oh, if only parents were doing their job….” which seems is the stock answer [...]

Quilt Progress

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Just so that people don’t think I haven’t made any progress on the quilt (you were all thinking that, right?), I thought I’d post the fruits of my labors even if it did languish here and there for the last three weeks or four… I included some of the surrounding territory to give a sense [...]

Dad

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Here’s a photo of my dad, compliments of my sister Debbie, at about age 1.

The Boys

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

The boys got this group shot at Christmas time because there are some who don’t believe that Sam at 6′1″ is the smallest of his brothers (really just height-wise, since two of his brothers are narrower than he). Jed in the back is not standing flat-footed, but he is the tallest at 6′4″. [...]
